TRANSFER LATEST! Man United & Tottenham Fighting To Sign This Monaco Star Player

TRANSFER LATEST! Man United & Tottenham Fighting To Sign This Monaco Star Player

Leicester are pushing for a quick deal to sign Youri Tielemans from Monaco, amid fears Manchester United and Tottenham may move for the midfielder, Sky Sports News understands.

The Foxes are wary of getting involved in a bidding war for the Belgium international, but are aware that his form while on loan at the King Power Stadium this season has attracted the attention of some of Europe’s top clubs.
It is thought Tielemans is keen on a permanent move to Leicester and has been impressed by new manager Brendan Rodgers.
His parent club, Monaco, had Leicester’s midfielder Adrien Silva on loan this season, and they are keen to make his deal permanent. But Sky Sports News understands that will not stop them seeking the best price they can for Tielemans.
In April, Rodgers said Leicester would “do everything they possibly can” to keep Tielemans.
But Tielemans is, at this moment, expecting to return to Monaco.
He told Belgian publication VTMNieuws:
“I expect that I will return to Monaco in the summer, unless something’s moving.
“At the moment there’s nothing. If things are going well you want to keep it like that. I don’t know what Monaco will be asking, so I can’t talk about it.”

New permanent Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has made it clear that complacent players will be sold.
Solskjaer, speaking at a press conference on Thursday, also set himself the target of winning the Premier League title.
The Norwegian admitted it has been too long since United’s last title win in 2013, while also cautioning his current squad against complacency.
“To lift the Premier League trophy again is what we expect, what we’re used to.
“We can’t wait too many years but we have to take it step by step. It can’t happen overnight.
“Players who get complacent never last at this club. I’m the same. I can’t be complacent now I’ve got the job. That’s not me. We’re looking forward.
“We’ve got to work harder. I think the players know my expectations for the future,” Solskjaer said.

Alexis Sanchez has claimed that Jose Mourinho killed confidence of Manchester United players, by his constant rotation, while he was manager.
Sanchez is one of the players that fell out with Mourinho, before the Portuguese was eventually sacked in December.
Although the Chilean attacker described Mourinho as a great coach, he revealed that life became difficult for the squad in his final months in charge.
“Mourinho is one of the best coaches in the world, in the way that he coaches, how he studies videos, the way he goes about things.
“But within the group, there was that feeling that you were in the team, then out.
“Sometimes I didn’t play, then I did, then I didn’t and as a player you lose confidence. Each player lost their confidence.
“Then an atmosphere was created that wasn’t healthy,” Sanchez told the BBC.

Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich, has reportedly notified Maurizio Sarri his future is in jeopardy and is ready to rival Manchester United for the services of Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino, according to the UK Express.
The Blues returned to winning ways with a 5-0 win over Huddersfield on Saturday, following their 4-0 humiliation at Bournemouth.
However, Abramovich is already losing patience with Sarri, whose side are locked in a three-way battle with Arsenal and United, for the final Champions League qualifying spot.
Chelsea were reported to be interested in Pochettino last summer, before appointing Sarri to succeed Antonio Conte.
Sarri made an instant impact at Stamford Bridge, but results and performances have dipped, since he suffered the first defeat of his reign against Pochettino’s Spurs side back in November.
It would cost Abramovich around £50million in compensation, to prise the Argentine from North London and the former Southampton manager’s preference remains United.

Juventus coach, Massimiliano Allegri has said it is “fantasy” to think Manchester United midfielder, Paul Pogba will play for the Italian side again.
The midfielder enjoyed four successful years at Juve after joining the club as a youngster from United in 2012.
He returned to Old Trafford in 2016 for a then-world record transfer fee of £89m but the World Cup winner struggled under Jose Mourinho this season prompting suggestions he could re-sign for Juve.
However, the 25-year-old France midfielder appears to have been revitalised by United’s decision to bring in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as caretaker manager to replace Mourinho.
He has been United’s standout player over the last month as they have won eight games in a row, including a 3-1 victory at Arsenal in the FA Cup on Friday, leaving Allegri to accept there is little chance of Pogba making a return.
“Oh my… you [journalists] have such fantasies,” the Juventus head coach told Skysports on Saturday.
“I think that a return of Pogba to Juventus is very, very unlikely.
“I will not deceive myself, I think it will be really hard to see Pogba come back.”

Arsenal have submitted a late bid to sign Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan, BBC reports.
Perisic was wanted by Jose Mourinho last summer, but the move broke down after the Old Trafford side refused to pay the Serie A club’s £45million valuation.
Arsenal are restricted to making loan signings this month on account of their spiralling wage bill.
But the Gunners are prepared to take Perisic until the end of the season and include a clause with the option to buy the player outright for £35m in the summer.
Perisic has endured an underwhelming season, scoring just four goals in 25 appearances and is said to be open to a move.

Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi has handed in a transfer request as he seeks a move away from Stamford Bridge in order to get more playing time.
The 18-year-old is yet to start a Premier League game at Chelsea and has been the subject of a £35m bid from Bayern Munich.
Chelsea have been in talks with Hudson-Odoi, who has 18 months left on his contract, and want him to stay.
But he has only made five Chelsea starts and 14 appearances overall.
There have been reports Hudson-Odoi has been offered a new deal worth up to £80,000 a week, but playing time is understood to be the most important issue for the teenager, who has been at the club since he was eight.
Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has been critical of Bayern after they went on the record about wanting to land the player.
Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic said the German club “really want to sign him”.
But during this transfer window, Chelsea have paid £58m to Borussia Dortmund for 20-year-old forward Christian Pulisic, who will join them next season.
And on Wednesday, Sarri recruited 31-year-old Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain on loan for the remainder of the season with an option to buy him for £31.3m.

Sala & Pilot
Argentina’s president has joined calls for the search for missing Cardiff City footballer Emiliano Sala to resume.
Mauricio Macri told his foreign minister to issue formal requests to Britain and France, according to a statement from his office.
The search for the Argentine striker, 28, and pilot David Ibbotson, 59, was called off on Thursday.
The plane disappeared from radar as the pair flew over the English Channel on their way to Cardiff on Monday night.
In a statement, the president’s office said: “President Mauricio Macri instructed foreign minister Jorge Faurie to make a formal request to the governments of Great Britain and France to ask them to maintain the search efforts.”
Mr Faurie is expected to make the request to both nations’ embassies.
Earlier, Sala’s sister Romina said:
“We are convinced Emiliano and the pilot are alive somewhere in the channel.”
Speaking through an interpreter, Ms Sala added: “I’m still in shock. We know Emiliano and the pilot are still alive. We want to go and search for them.
“We’re asking please don’t stop with this effort. All together, we will find a way to restart the search to find Emiliano.”
The Air Accidents Investigation Branch has begun an investigation which will look at “all operational aspects,” including licensing and flight plans.

Sala & Pilot
Messages shared between Emiliano Sala and the son of agent Willie McKay discussing flight arrangements have been revealed.
Willie McKay says although he arranged the flight for Sala, he did not own the plane, select the aircraft or the pilot.
After signing for Cardiff last Friday, Sala wanted to return to Nantes to say goodbye to team-mates and collect his belongings before returning to Cardiff on Monday, and McKay stepped in after Sala struggled to find a commercial flight.
Text messages released between Sala and Jack McKay – Willie’s son who plays for Cardiff – show that Sala decided to take the offer of a private flight to and from Nantes.
Below is a transcript of the messages between Jack McKay and Sala leading up to the plane’s disappearance on Monday night:

FRIDAY JANUARY 18

7:43pm – Jack McKay: “My dad has told me that you are going home tomorrow. He could organise a plane to take you direct to Nantes and to come back on Monday, at a time that suits you, so you can get to training on Tuesday.”
7:51pm – Emiliano Sala: “Ah that is great. I was just in the middle of checking if there are some flights to get to Nantes tomorrow.”
7:56pm – McKay: “He said he could organise a plane that would go direct to Nantes.”
7:56pm – Sala: “How much will it cost?”
7:56pm – McKay: “Nothing. He said if you help me to score goals it’s nothing.”
7:59pm – Sala: “Hahaha with pleasure.”
8:00pm: “We are going to score lots of goals.”
8:01pm: “I want to leave tomorrow for Nantes at around 11am and come back on Monday night around 9pm to Cardiff if that is possible.”
8:05pm – McKay: “Good. I’ll send a message when that’s sorted.”

SUNDAY JANUARY 20

5:00pm – Jack McKay: “Hi there is it possible you could come back at seven in the evening on Monday night? Just because the pilot has to get home in the north after he gets to Cardiff.”
5:01pm – Emiliano Sala: “Hi, Half past seven would be possible.”
5:03pm – McKay: “Yes that’s good.”
5:05pm – Sala: [PICTURE OF LUGGAGE]: “Can you ask if I can bring this on the plane?”
5:06pm – McKay: “Good yeah.”
5:07pm – Sala: “But is that going to be ok for the plane?”
McKay: “Yes there is space on the plane for your luggage.”
5:12pm – Sala: “Ok.”

MONDAY JANUARY 21

4:16pm – Jack McKay: “I’m going to call in a moment.”
[Emiliano Sala voice message]
4.23pm – McKay: “He said that it is the same company.”
4.27pm – Sala: “Ok thanks.”

Laurent Koscielny and Sokratis Papastathopoulos left Friday’s FA Cup clash with Manchester United due to injury, further worsening Arsenal’s defensive crisis.
Arsenal recently lost Hector Bellerin to injury as the fullback has been ruled out for up to nine months after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament.
Arsenal fell to the Red Devils 3-1 in Friday’s FA Cup clash with Lingard, Anthony Martial and Alexis Sanchez providing the goals for Manchester United in a match where the two key defensive pieces were forced out.
“I’m happy because I think our work is good, but the result is bad,” Emery said after the loss.
“Today it’s the result and the injuries. They don’t help us to be in the match, maybe when the result’s 1-2. In this moment we had the possibility to grow and to win, but these injuries – especially the one to Koscielny – didn’t help us because our rhythm went down.
“Also, we needed to change different players to play at centre back. They were very clinical today and in the moments when we attacked, we got into the box but couldn’t produce the last action to score.
“We deserved more but we played against Manchester United who are in their best moment of the season, and they have a lot of players to make the difference.

BREAKING! Barcelona Confirm Signing Of Kevin-Prince Boateng

Barcelona have confirmed the transfer of Kevin-Prince Boateng from Sassuolo.
The deal includes a €8million option to buy, while Barca will pay a €2m loan fee for Boateng, to feature for them the remainder of the season.
The 31-year-old will be presented on Tuesday morning, with a private contract signing set to be followed.
There would also be a photo session on the Camp Nou pitch and a press conference at noon.
A statement on the club’s official website reads:
“Kevin-Prince Boateng is a player who will surely adapt quickly to the team. With experience of playing in four of the biggest leagues in Europe, the Premier League, the Bundesliga, Serie A and La Liga, he is a man who has scored goals wherever he has been.
“Furthermore, Boateng is a player who versatile to a fault. During his time with Las Palmas with Quique Setién as coach he played as an out and out striker, a typical number ‘9’. However, he is also able to play further back as he did at AC Milan, scoring twice against Barça in his time with the Rossoneri.
“His ability to bring people into the game means he is excellent at playing behind the main striker.”

[Goals Highlight] Barcelona 3 – 1 Leganes (Watch Here)

Lionel Messi played an important role off the bench with an assist for Luis Suarez before scoring himself as Barcelona secured a 3-1 win over Leganes at Camp Nou.
Ernesto Valverde’s decision to rest Messi almost backfired after Martin Braithwaite cancelled out a goal from Ousmane Dembele, who was later forced off injured, but the Argentinian came off the bench to inspire Suarez’s goal and then rounded out proceedings.
Dembele was almost unplayable right from the start and it came as no surprise to see him find the breakthrough with a tidy finish just after the half-hour mark.

Angry Manager Sarri Finally Reveals Why Arsenal Beat Chelsea 2 – 0

Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri, has admitted that Arsenal were more “mentally determined” than his players, following their 2-0 defeat on Saturday evening.
Alexandre Lacazette and Laurent Koscielny scored the goals in the first half, as the Gunners claimed all three points at the Emirates.
The Blues finished the game with only one shot on target and hardly troubled Unai Emery’s team, despite having superior possession.
“We played against a team who were more mentally determined then we were and this is something I can’t accept,” Sarri told Sky Sports.
Speaking further on mentality of Chelsea players, the Italian said:
“They don’t have that ferocity and it’s something that is difficult to change.”

PREMIER LEAGUE! Sarri Reveals Who To Blame For Chelsea’s Defeat To Arsenal

Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri, has accepted that he and his players, are to blame for Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to Arsenal in the Premier League.
Alexandre Lacazette and Laurent Koscielny scored the goals in the first half, as the Gunners claimed all three points at the Emirates.
The Blues finished the game with only one shot on target and hardly troubled Unai Emery’s team, despite having superior possession.
“From a technical point of view both teams were on the same sort of level, but they had a higher level of determination in both penalty areas, so tactics don’t come into it.
“I can’t possibly say I am not partly responsible for the defeat. We have to share it.
“This is not a team that is going to be well known for its battling qualities, but we need to become a team that is capable of adapting, possibly suffering for 10 or 15 minutes, and then playing our own football. Today we didn’t play our own football,” Sarri told Chelsea’s official website.

HARDWORK PAYS!! Man United Set To Increase Rashford Wages

Manchester United are set to double Marcus Rashford’s wages, the UK Mirror reports.
The England international has six goals and three assists in his last nine games and United are keen to reward his form with a bumper new contract.
It would see the 21-year-old double his £75,000-per-week deal, which has only 18 months left to run, to £150,000.
Although the club have the option to extend it by an extra year, they want to tie him down long-term.
A new contract will also ward off interest from the continent, with Real Madrid in particular coveting the young forward.

GHEN GHEN! Jose Mourinho Mocks Man United New Boss Solskjaer (See What He Said)

Former Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, has defended his style of football, having come under renewed criticism, following the turnover overseen by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Old Trafford.
The Norwegian seems to have added renewed energy to the squad, with Paul Pogba recently saying he was unhappy with negative tactics before Solskjaer’s arrival.
Mourinho, speaking on beIN Sports, hit out at those who question his methods and suggested younger coaches like Solskjaer don’t have a real impact in terms of results.
“It is very easy to play well and not win. It is very easy to be behind an idea of a certain football without results.
“And the people that win consistently – because you can win isolated and then disappear – the people that win consistently have a different idea about that.
“If you speak about Guardiola, about [Carlo] Ancelotti – about the ones where obviously I belong – that have a career of victories for long, long periods. Where are the young ones with a real impact in terms of results? Where are they?” Mourinho said.

ITS HAPPENING! FIFA Planning To Introduce 48-team World Cup (See Full Details)

FIFA President Gianni Infantino
FIFA president Gianni Infantino said on Thursday that world football’s governing body is discussing the feasibility of expanding the 2022 World Cup in Qatar to 48 teams.
The World Cup finals have been played with a 32-side format since 1998, and the addition of 16 extra countries has long been planned for the 2026 edition.
But Infantino has hinted in recent months that the expansion could be brought forward, and confirmed on Thursday that it may go ahead in Qatar, although admitted that some matches may need to be staged in neighbouring countries.
“The Qataris have been very open to the idea of studying this issue,” Infantino said after a FIFA summit in Marrakech.
“The majority of federations would like this to happen, but you have to see if it’s possible at the organisational level.
“Of course, it’s going to be difficult to organise a World Cup with 48 teams only in Qatar. The idea would be to hold some matches in neighbouring countries.”
But that is complicated by Qatar being at the centre of the worst diplomatic crisis to hit the Gulf in years.
Since June 2017, it has been politically and economically isolated in a rancorous diplomatic dispute with former allies, including Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.
“We are in football and not in politics,” insisted Infantino. “We can see what we can get.”
The Swiss-Italian also reiterated his plan to expand the Club World Cup.
“We want to make it a real World Cup, with maybe 24 teams from all the continents,” he said. “The best teams are in Europe, but we need teams from around the world.”
